Does welding 6061-T6 or 6082-T6 make it weaker?

Yes. The metal beside the weld loses about 40% of its tensile strength and half its proof strength, and ageing won't restore it. Size to the welded figures.

6061 or 6082: which aluminium should the drawing call for?

For most machined parts either works: 6082-T6 meets 6061-T6's minimum strength. Write both; name one only for decorative anodise or a set spec.

Can you use aluminium instead of stainless for a machined part?

Often yes: 6082-T6 matches soft 304 on proof stress at a third of the weight, if the part stays cool, dry of salt, and is redrawn for stiffness.

Which certificates should come with machined parts?

Ask for a CoC, an EN 10204 3.1 certificate tied to your parts by heat number, and a dimensional report on critical features. Put all three in the RFQ.

Name the cosmetic faces, media, grit, masking, passivation to ASTM A967, inspection light and packing, then quote every shop against one approved sample.
